The ASI is a worldwide membership organisation. They set standards, provide accreditation to organisations (surf schools etc) and run training course across surf, SUP(stand up paddling) and body boarding.

A few things of note about ASI qualifications:

  • They use video analysis during workshops and as a means to assess standards remotely.
  • There is no option to skip awards with other experience or awards; however, you can do the workshops back to back if you have sufficient log book experience
  • They say your logged hours need to be at an Approved ASI School but they will make exceptions if that is impractical for you.
  • They have a flexible (remote) learning option

There is a good list of FAQ’s on their website HERE
